Swedish and American documentary directors Erik Strömdahl and Glenn Gebhard present an evening reflecting on their experiences of filming inside Cuba. With no permits, permissions, or official filming status, Strömdahl and Gebhard sought to capture, through their documentaries, the truth of how Cuba’s history and present reality operates in this secretive Communist society. The filmmakers will discuss their own experiences with clips from their films that were produced in and about this hidden Island leftover from the cold war.
A short presentation will be followed by a question and answer session and reception with the filmmakers.
Und was unterstützt dich dabei?
Der zweistündige Workshop “From inspiration to impact” findet am Dienstag, 10. September (Ankunft 18:15; Beginn 18:30 – 20:30 Uhr) in Eutopia Bonn statt. Die Veranstaltung wird vom Gastgeber Centre for Social Entrepreneurship Bonn (CESEB) mitveranstaltet.
We believe in the power of people to lead and inspire change. We are ready to co-create innovative, sustainable solutions to our current global challenges. Yet we need a new approach to leadership that starts from the inside out.
Are you a social entrepreneur, intrapreneur, student, volunteer or leader who is passionate about making a difference? Even if you don’t think of yourself as a changemaker, you have an impact on the world around you every day. Therefore, the key question rather is: which kind of impact do you want to create? And how do I go about it?
The invitation is to join Unity Effect for an in-person workshop to start diving into these questions. Over two hours, we will embark on a journey to connect to what inspires you as a foundation for taking action and creating meaningful impact. This is also an opportunity to learn more about our approach regarding personal & leadership development and our related programs, such as the Changemaker Journey & the Purpose Journey.
The 2-hour workshop “From inspiration to impact” – co-hosted by CESEB Bonn– will take place on 30th July (arrival 18:15; start 18:30 – 20:30) in EUTOPIA (Thomas-Mann-Straße 36, 53111 Bonn). In the upcoming months, we will be offering more workshops on some of our core topics, both in English and German. If you can’t attend, you can always contact us for a tailored workshop.
Price
The price for this workshop is 25 EUR or 15 EUR reduced. (The participants themselves choose the appropriate price category when registering).

We are thrilled to have Andry Huzain in Bonn! Andry is the Co-Founder and COO of TunaiKita (https://www.tunaikita.com/en), a peer2peer lending platform in Indonesia. The mission of TunaiKita is to help Indonesia’s underserved consumers experience better living through responsible credit.
In a little over two years, TunaiKita has grown rapidly by helping the underserved to gain access to loan throughout Indonesia. TunaiKita harnesses technology using the potential of machine learning, AI and Big Data to reach the millions in need of financial inclusion.
To date, Indonesians also face environmental challenges, from deteriorating rainforests to pollution.
This raises ideas:
Can we use technology responsibly, balancing FinTech’s (Financial Technology) financial inclusion mission with environmental factors the same group of target market are experiencing?
Or: Can we create incentives to include environmental sustainability into the fast-paced technology industry?
Together, we would like to explore those possibilities with you.
What would you do if your basic income was taken care of? This question often appears in conjunction with the unconditional basic income. We go a step further and ask: Is that really the most important question in this discussion? What other questions are there that need discussing?
In this impulse meeting, we kick off the ibugi talks series on the ubi. We start at the basics: what is the ubi? Why is it brought up so frequently? What have you got to say about it?
The director of our institute, Prof. Dr. Marcelo da Veiga welcomes our guest Prof. Dr. Sascha Liebermann to open the event with a short impulse about the very basics of the idea. We will then open the discussion and collect questions and opinions from the group. After the official part of the evening is done, we look forward to having lively conversations over a glass or two.
While the event is free of charge, we do ask for registration on eventbrite.de

The cultural impact of Steiner’s work is particularly well known through its application to medicine, agriculture and education. Below these tangible fields, however, lay the foundations of his ideas and approaches. This seminar addresses said foundations in an open framework.

The workshop spans two days!
Date and time: Friday 28th June (16:00 – 20:00) to Saturday 29th June (9:00 –12:00)
This workshop is for anyone interested in:
The aim in this workshop is that participants become more sensitive to the subtleties of their own experience as a basis for self-knowledge and as a basis for deepening meditative practice. We will draw from the meditative traditions (both East and West) but the approach we will take is not tied to any one tradition. The workshop will be a combination of meditative exercises combined with short presentations and discussion. The workshop is suitable both for complete beginners and for those who already have an established meditation practice. The language is English
About the facilitator: Dr Fergus Anderson is an adult educator, philosopher and meditation practitioner based in the UK. He is lecturer and course leader at Crossfields Institute, and also an Associate Researcher at ibugi, Bonn.
This is a free workshop offered by ibugi as part of an on-going series. There will be a small charge for refreshments. To book a place on the workshop, visit: meditationlabbonn.eventbrite.co.uk

The rules of a Pecha Kucha Night are simple: There is a limited amount of presentations. Each presentation can have 20 slides at most with as little text as possible. Each slide is shown for 20 seconds at most. This way, the presentations remain short and sweet, and focused on the essentials. There is time for discussion afterwards. Topic-wise, everything goes: Be it the topic of your dissertation, your favourite Dr. Who episode or a new concept for a website! Are you interested? Visit CESEB to find information on upcoming events.
